I have a new address. Again. And I’m really tired of transferring driver’s licenses, setting up utilities and finding a good hairdresser. But whether this address sticks isn’t a sign of success or failure. Fact is, I’ve simply moved. A LOT. And acquired so many amazing experiences in the process which inspired me to start this blog. Here’s a snapshot of what to expect:
Life in Santa Fe. After three sweltering summers in Arizona, I cracked. Even the totem cactus in my front yard died. But my experiment moving there was rooted in love. I wanted to get closer to my mom in Arizona after spending ten years on the east coast. Santa Fe is a day’s drive to Arizona, without the blazing hot summers. This smallish, artsy town is aptly named the ‘city different’, and I’m enjoying how different life here is from all the others cities I’ve lived in.
Traveling through time. At 55, I’ve lived long enough to cultivate my own personal road map to guide me. I have a stronger inner compass and have learned to trust my intuition. Years of practicing and teaching yoga, and pursuing a healthy lifestyle have made facing so many moves a little easier. I’ll write about how I’ve found a sense of home in every place I’ve lived.
Daily observations. It comes a little easier in a new town, but there’s always opportunity to discover something right under my nose. Like the snake hanging out in the middle of the street this morning. Or watching for ants beneath my rescue pup’s nose on morning walks. Being present to life as it’s happening right now is what I hope to share in future stories right here. I hope you enjoy reading Her Next Address!
